Best Bakeries & Donut Shops in Yokohama: Family-Friendly Places to Try
If you’re looking for bakeries or donut shops around Yokohama Station and Minato Mirai, there are plenty of great places to choose from.
In this article, I’ll introduce some bakeries and donut shops that I’ve visited, including information that may be helpful when visiting with children.
I’ll share whether you can use a stroller, whether the shop has seating, and how busy it was when I visited.

Bakeries & Donut Shops Around Yokohama Station
🥐 JEAN FRANÇOIS Yokohama Porta
JEAN FRANÇOIS is located inside Yokohama Porta, which is directly connected to Yokohama Station.
This is actually my favorite bakery. I especially love their melon bread and their shrimp and avocado bread.
There is a small seating area inside, so you can eat the bread you purchase right away.
You can enter with a stroller, but the aisles and seating area are a little narrow. During busy times, using a stroller may be a bit difficult.

🥖 TOM CAT BAKERY
TOM CAT BAKERY is located in CIAL Yokohama, directly connected to Yokohama Station.
Because it is so close to the station, it’s easy to visit with a stroller. It’s also a convenient place to grab a quick breakfast, snack, or light lunch with children.
There are many different types of bread, so it’s fun to look around with your children and decide together:
“Which one should we get?”
The bakery can get busy, but the line tends to move fairly quickly, so it’s also convenient when you don’t want to spend too much time waiting.
There is also seating where you can eat the bread you purchase.

- Crowds: It can get busy, but the turnover is fairly quick
🍩 YOKOHAMA Nama Donuts
If you’re looking for something a little different around Yokohama Station, YOKOHAMA Nama Donuts is worth checking out.
This specialty donut shop from Strasbourg is known for its soft, chewy donuts.
I liked that they weren’t overly sweet, and the donuts also look cute enough to make a nice souvenir or gift.
If you don’t see the donut you want in the display case, don’t give up!
It’s worth asking a staff member, as additional donuts may be brought out.
When I visited, I asked about a donut that wasn’t on display, and more were brought out from the back.
- Stroller: Depends on how busy the shop is
- Tip: If something you want appears sold out, ask a staff member. More may be coming out.
Donut Shops & Bakeries Around Minato Mirai
🍩 I’m donut ? Yokohama Rinko Park
The popular fresh donut shop I’m donut ? also has a location at Yokohama Rinko Park in Minato Mirai.
Since the shop is right next to the park, it’s easy to stop by after playing at the park or having a picnic.
You can enter with a stroller, and there is also terrace seating.
When visiting with children, the terrace may be easier and more comfortable than sitting inside.
One thing to note is that eat-in customers are required to order one drink per person.
Pets are allowed on the terrace only.
I visited on a weekday morning and barely had to wait when I arrived.
However, by the time I left, there was already a line of around 10 people.
If you want to avoid a long wait, going earlier in the day may be a good idea.

🥖 dacō Yokohama Rinko Park
dacō is another bakery located in the same space as I’m donut ?.
It is an alternative brand from AMAM DACOTAN, a popular bakery originally from Fukuoka.
Because I’m donut ? and dacō share the same space, they also share the seating area.
This means that seats may be limited when the shop is busy.
Many of the breads have a soft, fluffy texture. I tried the Daco Suisse while eating in, and I particularly liked its crispy pastry.
Like I’m donut ?, customers move through the shop in a single line while choosing their products.
Because of this, it can be difficult to go back to an earlier section of the shop if you notice something you want later.
My tip: Take a good look at the products before moving too far along the line!

Free Bicycle Parking Near Rinko Park
There is free bicycle and motorcycle parking near the Rinko Park side, right in front of the building where I’m donut ? Yokohama and dacō Yokohama are located.
However, when I tried approaching from the Rinko Park side, there was a section where I had to push my bicycle, which was a little inconvenient.
If you’re coming by bicycle, it’s easier to continue along the waterfront to reach the bicycle parking area.
For families traveling by bicycle with children, I recommend approaching from this side.
🍩 Leonard’s Yokohama World Porters
You can also enjoy the famous Hawaiian malasadas at Leonard’s in Yokohama World Porters.
The stroller could be placed next to our seats, and the aisles inside were fairly spacious.
I visited with my children when they were 3 and 1 years old, and both of them loved the donuts!
The staff were kind to the children, and our order came relatively quickly, so I found it easy to visit with young children.
When we visited around noon, there was already a line.
If you want to avoid the crowds, going soon after opening may be a better option.
One thing to keep in mind with malasadas is that they are covered in plenty of sugar!
If your children eat them, their hands and faces can get very messy. Bringing some wet wipes is definitely a good idea.

There are several bakeries directly connected to Yokohama Station, making them convenient when you’re traveling with children.
Around Minato Mirai, you’ll also find donut shops and bakeries that you can enjoy together with a visit to the park.
When visiting with children, it’s helpful to check not only whether strollers are allowed, but also how wide the aisles are, whether there is seating, and what time the shop tends to get busy.
My family often enjoys bread and donuts together, so I’ll continue adding more places to this article as I visit them.

After Lunch at Yokohama Station: Minato Burari Ticket
If you’re having lunch around Yokohama Station and then planning to visit Minato Mirai, Yamashita Park, or Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, the Minato Burari Ticket may also be worth considering.
The ticket allows you to use several local transportation options for one day, including city buses, the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line, the Akai Kutsu sightseeing bus, and Bayside Blue.
This can be convenient if you want to visit several sightseeing spots from Yokohama Station.
When you’re traveling with children, walking between several sightseeing spots can be tiring, so having convenient transportation can make the day much easier.
